Shafaullah Khan Rokhri


Whenever Pakistani folk music is mentioned and discussed, the name of Shafaullah Khan Rokhri is the first one to pop up in the head. Shafaullah Khan Rokhri is a very popular folk singer of Pakistan who belongs to Rokhri town of Mianwali district situated in Punjab. He started his career in 1998 and up till now has released 70 albums in his soulful and voice. We are blessed to have a huge melodious collection of his songs in mainly Siraiki and Punjabi cultural genre. According to him, his main inspiration in musical field is the famous folk singer named Gulam Abbas who basically belongs to Mianwali. Shafaullah Khan is very lucky in the sense that he got this golden chance of getting trained in his filed from his inspiration i.e. Gulam Abbas.
He sang many famous songs including Bismillah Karan, Chitti corolla car, and some other famous Siraiki songs but out of all his songs, Kala jora is the most famous one and it mainly became the cause of his fame.
Apart from singing, Rokhri also plays musical instruments like harmonium, flute, and dhool. He is famous for performing live musical nights, open air sessions, as well as private functions like birthdays, parties, and wedding ceremonies. He sings at 15-20 functions per month in cities like Attock, Chakwal, pindi, jehlum.
